I am dead against this! There are professional tennis clubs for the more serious tennis players already, I believe this facility should be kept as is.

The surface is fine and does not need resurfacing or remarking, I am sure that the money could be spent on better things - why not redo the volleyball that has been left to degrade.

The tennis courts are used by so many families at the weekend - I am sure that that will not be the case when the £6 charge (plus parking!) is introduced.

Your article said ‘A spokesman for the LTA said: “Horsham District Council are committed to encouraging more tennis across the whole sector of the local community.”

NO, in fact you have just made it impossible for most young people or families to access the facility!

I think this scheme should have been consulted on properly before it became a done deal. This will only increase tennis for those that can pay that cost week in, week out, such a shame that kids won’t be able to play a nice healthy game of tennis outdoors for the near future unless their parents fund this cost.

Just typical that they go on about childhood obesity but then put a large cost on for places such as this.

I truly think HDC has lost the plot on this one!
