LETTER: Mean to charge for parking

Just how mean can Horsham District Council get, it has now started charging to use the car parks at Southwater Country Park.

This is a continuing ploy of stitching up the motorist - so what will they do next, make a charge to drive into Horsham?

Oh dear, I might have given them a suggestion in that remark. I can drive to Camberwell in London to see my daughter, drive to the nearby very large well maintained park where there are numerous places to park and it’s all free.

Now I would think that there is a much bigger demand on finances in a London Borough than dear old Horsham, here we just want to rip anyone off to pay the high wages of some staff and the generous expenses paid to many including the councillors.

I find it beyond belief that they have done this penny pinching scheme so if someone wants to take their dog or just walk round the park they are now going to have to pay for it - or maybe they will just park in the nearby roads and walk into the park for free which of course will cause more congestion in the nearby roads.

So well done scrooge HDC, you must be in the running for the meanest council in the UK.

Stop ripping off the motorist as we all pay more than enough for the pleasure of using our cars.
