LETTER: Worthing's bright future

The next few years for Worthing are looking bright as we have now finally got the go-ahead for the regeneration of the old Aquarena site into a landmark building providing significant public benefits.

We have also had approval for a large redevelopment at what was once Bunce’s the evening before. I hope that these developments will act as a catalyst for further town centre redevelopment and will show the world that Worthing is open for business, wants to grow and to modernise.

We still have large brownfield sites at Teville Gate, Grafton Road Car Park and Union Place and the opportunities for mixed use developments on these sites is great. I look forward to seeing consultations and plans coming forward for these sites, but more importantly cranes in the skyline around Worthing town centre building much needed homes as well as improving our leisure facilities and boosting our economy.
