A valid point

IN his comments on the village green registration (Observer May 27) Steve Hall makes a valid point on the danger arising from the jet skis at Herbrand Walk beach.

In the event of injury to a third party caused by an uninsured rider, claims for compensation may well be made against the owners of the foreshore, as well as Rother District Council.

The foreshore owners can,of course, avoid this potential liability by erecting notices refusing access to jet skiers across their land. Jet ski activity takes place in the water, not on the beach, which is now a green.
