AGM to unveil plans for Worthing, Southlands and St Richards hospitals
We are pleased to invite your readers to hear about the successes and challenges of the past 12 months at Worthing, Southlands and St Richard's hospitals, as well as our plans for the future, at theAnnual General Meeting of our Council of Governors and Annual Members' Meeting.
The event will take place on Thursday, July 21, in the Worthing Health Education Centre (WHEC),
Worthing Hospital, at 10am. Coffee will be served at 9.30am. Chief Executive Marianne Griffiths will provide an insight into our annual report for 2015/16, a year that for Western Sussex Hospitals was truly like no other.
Once again, we were busier and cared for more people than ever before, but what made 2015/16 so different and potentially transformational for us was the Care Quality Commission inspection we underwent during the winter.
To emerge from the toughest examination any healthcare organisation can face as only the third acute trust in the country to be awarded the highest possible rating (Outstanding) was not just an incredible accolade for our 6,500 staff but also a huge vote of confidence in the strategies we have put in place for the future.
These plans and our ambitions to raise standards of care further still will be discussed at the meeting also, in particular with a talk from our medical director, Dr George Findlay, on the work teams are doing across the hospitals to prevent patients from falling.
We hope to welcome many people from the community to find out more. To reserve a place, please email [email protected] or telephone 01903 205111 ext. 84038.
Thank you, as always, for your continued interest in the work of our Trust and the support given to our staff.
