Amnesty International imparts a new spin on human rights

READERS may be interested to know that Amnesty International are holding a nationwide campaign to draw attention to violations of human rights that are killing civilians in the escalating Sri Lankan conflict.

During the cricket World Cup, we have been inviting people to sign a foam cricket ball printed with the words "Play by the rules" and the Amnesty International logo.

At our publicity launch in Shoreham, we held a fun game of cricket to publicise this campaign.

Signing the balls is the equivalent of signing a petition and a visual record will be collated from all over the UK and sent to Sri Lanka.
