Anglican Church split over marriage

Presumably most people see this as a simple difference of opinion about what is right or wrong, or is it in fact a split on how what is ‘right or wrong’ is decided.

We do not so much have a liberal and traditional side in the church as an authoritarian and value based division.

There are those who decide on the basis of what was said and done two thousand years ago, and those who decide on the basis of the purpose of what was said.

There may be a third choice, that of random opinion.
