Is it necessary to shout about charity donations?

I know that bikers and motorcycle enthusiasts have a bad reputation due to a few bad apples tarring everyone with the same brush.

Yet this is compounded by those bikers and groups who constantly seek publicity for the good deeds and donations to charity which they make.

Yet I and many others give to charity without any need for a thank you or to shout it from the roof tops.

I realise that not all bike groups are the same. There are several of my personal acquaintance who do so quietly, discreetly and without feeling the need to contact the newspapers, magazines or to plaster it all over the social media platforms each time they give a donation of goods or of monetary value.

The few who do are not in fact doing themselves or others a good turn, when they do it for only selfish reasons.

I get the feeling it is more a case of what they can gain from it, not what will be more beneficial to others in desperate need.

Perhaps these few individuals will think it will look good on their CV.

If you want to do good deeds, then do so but stop doing your fellow motorcycle enthusiasts a bad deed by constantly seeking publicity and do so for the sole reason of helping others.
