LETTER: ‘Dismayed...’

I have been dismayed to hear the comments by Nigel Lawson and other short-sighted Eurosceptics.

I’m fed up with hearing what they don’t want. Can they cobble together an argument for what they do want? To me it’s straightforward. I want a Britain with a prominent role in Europe: boasting its financial capital and trading with our neighbours – all the while shaping the legislation that affects us, rather than being told it.

I want to continue to trade with 50 countries overseas where trade deals already exist, not throwing this all away and taking years to start from scratch. I want a Britain of prosperity, security and stability. It’s as simple as that.
