LETTER: Every penny will help

As a small charity, we at Children Today are incredibly proud of the work we do as we help young people with disabilities enjoy activities or a lifestyle that other people take for granted through the funding for equipment we provide.

Whether it’s a sports wheelchair to help a young person enjoy team activities whilst in university or a specialist trike to let a young child enjoy riding their bike with their siblings, these pieces of equipment give them the opportunity to achieve their potential and can change their lives.

The feedback from the families we have supported over the years shows that these pieces of equipment can make a huge impact to families, giving increased independence and the best possible quality of life for these children and young people. However, as we receive no government funding we are reliant on voluntary donations to keep offering grants for these vital pieces of equipment.

Since April last year, we have provided 139 grants and we now hope that people will commit to ‘Make a Difference in March’ and help us fund eleven more for children on our waiting list to reach our goal of 150 awarded by the end of the month.

Every penny can make a difference so we’re just asking people to donate what they can, however little or large. To make a donation call us on 01244 335622. Thank you for your support in helping change children’s lives.
