LETTER: Horsham declared a sport-free zone

It obviously matters little to our local councillors that Horsham FC’s wonderful heritage may now be permanently consigned to history, and that its magnificent exploits in the FA Cup against Swansea City, and before that, Swindon Town and Notts County, all of the Football League, will be memories to be cherished.

After all, it would appear that Horsham has now been designated a ‘Sport Free’ zone, as evidenced by the apparent indifference to the Broadbridge Heath Sports and Leisure Centre, and lack of interest in the long established County Cricket Festival, which only survived last year due to the largesse of an anonymous benefactor.

Perhaps, all local sporting organisations should be aware that it could be their turn next!
