Be assured I’m not a lycra clad, Tour de France wannabe, who ignores red lights and the 20mph speed limit.

I got on my bike to save time and benefit from the exercise.

On Thursday evening I was nearly wiped out twice – a man in a van came out of Queen Street over the main road and down Georgia Avenue. I found out my brakes were pretty effective.

When I was descending Broadwater bridge cautiously, an impatient driver decided he was going to avoid the hold up by turning left down Newland Road.

Without indication or a glance in his nearside wing mirror he pulled out.

Can the Herald find out who came up with this hair-brained scheme? I bet he or she doesn’t live in Worthing but has a degree in how to spend other people’s money. Let’s hope common sense prevails before something really serious happens.
