Naked bike ride sends our children the wrong message

Saturday 4th July was a lovely day in Worthing.

Families enjoyed the sunshine. Girls were in pretty summer dresses and there, with whistles blowing and a lot of noise, appeared a large group of naked cyclists and I do mean stark naked.

Middle aged obese men and fat ladies.

Who gave permission for this nasty obscene display and why? What can possibly have been the reason?

We try to educate our children to be careful and aware and if anyone should expose themselves tell someone immediately and to be very protective of their own behaviour. What will they say now if someone “flashes” at them. “Where is his bike?” What mixed messages to give our children.

I am so shocked by this event and not the only one. A couple of teenage girls were visibly distressed by this event as were several parents of young children.

I will ask that if a group of young men and women came along the street naked would they be arrested? I am sure that if my partner and I took our clothes off the police and psychiatric services would soon be involved.

A lovely day ruined by this horrid event.
