New islands get their just desert

I WOULD like, through your columns, to say how pleased I am with the improvements to the pavements and the new pedestrian islands in the Southdown Road and Hebe Road area of Shoreham.

I am not as fast on my feet as I used to be and this area has always been a worry when crossing the road, with cars flying at you from all directions.

Now I feel I can cross these roads safely and pause on the new islands while crossing the road.

So, thank you to whoever was responsible for these safety improvements.
