No warning of new opening hours at tip
On Tuesday, October 4, I visited the amenity tip at Mill Lane, Littlehampton, at 10.05am.
On arrival I found the gates locked and a notice on the gate saying that as from October 1, the winter opening times would be from 10am until 5pm instead of the previous times.
What is more, it was to be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday each week in future.
I was not informed as to the change of times and did not know until I arrived at the tip.
This was a wasted journey and the time it took to load up my car and to unload it again at home was considerable.
Apparently people living in Angmering had a note from the council about the changes whereas I, who live in Rustington, received no information.
I do not agree with the reduction in days and hours the tip is open.
It is very busy most times and has already caused congestion. This has lead to fly tipping which will cost the council more money to clear, already requiring two specialist officers to provide backup to the anti-fly tipping officers.
