Passing firemen stopped to help after elderly woman tripped in Worthing.

I witnessed an incident where an elderly woman tripped over the pavement opposite Starbucks in Worthing.

She fell forward and hit her head on the pavement and was concussed.

People were kind and came to help her. An ambulance was called as soon as she fell. After half an hour the ambulance still hadn’t arrived and a fire engine stopped.

Two firemen picked her up and put her on a chair and they really looked after her.

They stayed with her until the ambulance arrived.

What struck me was the way the fire engine was not called, it was simply passing, and they still stopped and looked after her.

They took off their coats and wrapped them around her. They were absolutely wonderful. This is a way to thank the firemen. There were four of them altogether.
