In this present lockdown, I am so sorry to see the Royal Golf Course being overused as if it were a local park.

Unfortunately, the correspondence on this page during the November lockdown has drawn attention to this beautiful area. However, we the public have to remember that this delightful space is on loan to us, whilst sadly the golfers are unable to use it and it must be treated with respect.

So please do not let your children or dogs run on the greens and remember to pick up anything that your dog leaves behind.

A friend out alone for a walk on the golf course last week was a little dismayed to see a man in full combat uniform, carrying a rifle, with what appeared to be a telescopic sight, walking ahead of her.

Was this man on military training, shooting rabbits or just to deter the public?

I am definitely a little more nervous on my solitary walk.
