Shocked at report

I WAS shocked when I saw the front page of last week's Observer about arrests at a school leavers' party. I personally was present, as I recently left Bexhill High, and what I remember of that night was very different from the account that your article portrayed.

I do not know anyone there that had been supplied with alcohol from their parents and two of the four arrested were not even Bexhill High students.

I would like to thank the police, as there were many present, and they were very friendly, making sure that we were all having a good night. I would also like to say that the party was intended only for year 11 leavers, and I do not know why there were younger pupils there, some of them drinking.

I really enjoyed my time at Bexhill High, I have made great friends and have been truly inspired by many of the teachers, and I think it’s time that Bexhill residents try to focus on Bexhill High’s many positive points.
