Despite the Government’s recent relaxation of the franchise conditions, Southern are still in breach of the revised targets and should by default be removed from the franchise. Since December last year they have shown contempt for their passengers and staff. Transport minister Clare Perry has no intention of holding them to the franchise conditions so will the matter ever be resolved? It is time for action not meaningless words.
