Southern Train's service is wholly unacceptable

On Saturday July 2, I travelled from Weymouth to Southhampton Central. My connecting train - the 11.32 to Worthing - was cancelled.

The 12.15 train to Horsham was cancelled and passengers were advised to catch the 12.32 train.

Unfortunately, the train was suddenly terminated at Barnham with no explanation.

The driver had no advance warning. Everyone was told to get off the train and go to platform 3 to catch the Littlehampton train at 2.08 (I think) or wait 30 minutes for the next Brighton train.

I found the crush of passengers too much. Fearing I would not get on either of the recommended trains, I phoned home for a lift

As a pensioner with luggage I found the service to be wholly unacceptable.

My son is attending Brighton University and travels there by train each day. He has suffered considerable disruption_ trains cancelled of delayed or not stopping at Durrington.

I feel the franchise should be taken away from Southern as they are not able to provide a safe and regular service on which you can depend.
