On Saturday 23rd November The Towers Convent Senior School choir went to Covent Garden to sing in The Actors’ Church, an event which is has become part of the school’s Christmas traditions.

Before the concert the 80 choristers had the opportunity to sample the nearby shops and market and in spite of the cold, the beautifully decorated and vibrant square filled the group with Christmas spirit, which no doubt inspired their performance.

Three schools sang a selection of carols and other songs to a delighted audience of parents and passers-by.

One particular favourite was a moving and spiritually-uplifting Christmas carol, written and accompanied by The Towers’ Head of Music, Mrs Heidi Gray.

‘Christmas Lullaby’ was recently aired on BBC Sussex Neil Pringle Breakfast show and can be heard on Towers School Youtube Website http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HYGWBoMYuo

The Choir has also performed at several Carol Services and The Holmbush Shopping Centre, where they hope to donate £1000 to Local Homeless Charities.
