Thank you for helping make Christmas special

As the manager of Sovereign Lodge care home in Eastbourne, I’m writing to share my sincere thanks to the many people in our local community who helped us to make Christmas special for our residents.

The outpouring of support, gifts and cards we received from those around us was very special.

Our residents were touched to receive handwritten letters and Christmas messages from some of the children at Ratton School, as part of the ‘classroom to care home’ initiative.

We also received some incredibly thoughtful gifts, each with a handwritten message, from the staff at our local Asda store.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, our team has been doing everything possible to reduce the impact of restrictions on our residents and to keep to our constant goal of helping them live happy and fulfilled lives; Christmas was no exception to this.

While this is one of the most challenging times we have all faced in recent times, it has also been a time for us to truly appreciate the importance of community spirit.
