Triumph for common sense

I hope that no further applications will be made on this recreation ground, nor on any other precious greenfield area within East Preston.

It's a victory for common sense and I thank all of the hundreds of people who took the time to object to this planning application.

I would also like to thank the Littlehampton Gazette for featuring our story so prominently over the last few weeks, which has led to countywide coverage in newspapers and local radio.

Perhaps the parish council will now consider spending some of the money it is holding on more important areas within the village, for example saving St Mary's Church?
