Volunteering was marvellous

WHEN I volunteered to do the first community stall at Littlehampton market, I was unsure what to expect. Would we have enough cakes and jam to sell and would anyone come and support us? However, I did not need to worry – you were all marvellous.

It was a fantastic opportunity to raise not only a great of money but also to raise awareness of my chosen charity Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Town councillors Marian Ayres and Jill Long supported me and after we set up the stall, we didn’t stop all day. The response was overwhelming, and thanks to your generosity we raised £412 for this worthwhile cause.

Thank you to everyone who supported us, it was good to meet so many of you and share some of your views and ideas.
