We should take a leaf out of the German system
Democracy is a very fragile political system and needs careful handling particularly in present day situations.
We have globalisation with huge international companies operating and yet they are not paying tax in this country.
There are electoral systems that don’t reproduce public opinion – many influenced by wealthy persons or institutions.
The USA and Mr Trump are a prime example – his money even overrides the party wishes.
Yet after WWII, the allies insisted that Germany had PR, state funding of parties, limited donations to parties and labour representation on company boards.
Seems to work for them. It’s a pity it wasn’t applied to the allies.
