Wearing darkglasses, perhaps?

WELL, D Kingsnorth (Letters, June 10) I must bring you to account on your comments regarding the hottest days and lack of people on Bexhill's West Parade.

On Friday, June 3 after taking my daughter and grand-daughter shopping in Eastbourne I asked my daughter if she would like to see what all the fuss was about concerning the changes on Bexhill seafront (she lives in Hastings).

We found that there were lots of people enjoying the afternoon sun, children playing on the grass, hardly a seat to be had and the cowsheds full of people, presumably waiting for the cows to come home. This admittedly was not at midday but around 1.30 pm.

I suggest that the writer was wearing really dark glasses as his account was not my experience at all. I cannot comment on the eastern promenade.

What my daughter liked was the abundance of (dead) plants lying around. A beautiful and relaxing walk on a hot day.
