Wonderful events to remember

I woul dlike to say '˜well done' to the Littlehampton mayor, Marian Ayres and the town council.

Firstly for the Mayor’s Civic Service of celebration on Sunday, April 17.

It was hosted by Arun Community Church at TLA and led by the school’s chaplain, Paul Sanderson, with the added bonus of having the lovely Pam Rhodes (of BBC’s Songs of Praise) to introduce the hymns. What a treat! The service was followed by tea and cakes and a chance to chat as well as to have books signed by Pam. It was all most enjoyable.

Secondly, well done for the celebration of her Majesty’s birthday on Thursday evening, when we were entertained at the Stage by the Sea by the super singing of the Silhouette Show followed by the excellent Sea Cadets Band. Flags were given out for us to wave and later commemorative coins were given to the children.

We then moved onto the prom and beach for the lighting of the beacon and to sing God Save the Queen.

Where I was standing, the singing was not as good as the TLA, I’m afraid.

Finally, we all received a piece of the delicious birthday cake made by Biggs Bakery.

What a lovely idea!

Another very enjoyable event so I would like to thank the Mayor and town council for organising both and for creating special memories.
