Worthing cycle lane: ‘Will an upsurge in cycling last?’

Has anyone noticed that the upsurge in cycling coincided with some of the sunniest and driest weather we’ve experienced for several years, combined with people not going to work?

Once the weather reverts to cold, wet and windy, how many people will still get on their bikes?

Further, has anyone noticed the increase in traffic using alternative routes to avoid the disaster on the A24? Seems to me that there may well be the hoped for reduction in traffic on the main road, but at the cost of increased traffic on other roads.
