Worthing may lose support for voluntary sector

I am very concerned to learn that Worthing may well lose its current support for the voluntary sector.

The voluntary sector in Adur and Worthing is a very active and thriving sector and brings much wanted publicity and revenue to the area. To loose the support that this centre gives would be catastrophic (and I do not use that word lightly). The local council has, over the past year or so, conducted voluntary sector initiatives that would now seem to be undermined by this action. It is inconceivable that any area can be best served by an organisation from outside the area.

I hope Worthing Borough Council will give some very
serious consideration to this matter before awarding the contract to any outside agency.
