Many reasons for pensioners' free bus passes

Could I please point out that many of those over-60s using the buses form the enormous army of volunteer workers, without whom our council-run facilities and charities could not function.

As to the question, "what did these people do before bus passes?" many were stuck at home, unable to afford the fares.

Now we can also cut down on our heating bills by not being at home all day, too.

Can I also suggest that the bus companies stop discriminating against Worthing residents and charge out-of-towners for the part of their journey that crosses Worthing between 9am and 9.30am.

Incidentally, this morning at 8.50am, two NCP blue traffic wardens boarded a bus to town, flashed their name badges at the driver and were allowed to travel free of charge.
