Paddle steamer pain
ON Friday, September 3, I telephoned Waverley Excursions and booked a passage for myself and a friend for a sail down the Jurassic Coast on September 6. My friend and I are senior citizens and paid a reduced total fare of £78 by debit card.
On Sunday, September 5, at the pier head a notice referred to the cancellation of the sailing.
I have spoken to a lady at Waverley Excursions seeking a refund but was told that “we do not give refunds” – contrary to the small print on the back of their leaflet ‘Step Aboard’. She did offer me a passage on the ship sailing from Southampton, which I declined.

Hide AdI feel your readers should be warned not to part with their money until they have actually boarded the ship. I am still fuming. I have written to them by letter but have not received a reply.
