People power on the web will tackle pothole pain

I WOULD like to add to what Andy Burling said in his letter in the last edition of the Herald concerning potholes in roads around Worthing (Roads are bad but will someone look into it? Herald, January 29).

Another bad stretch of road is at the junction of Goring Road and Shaftesbury Avenue leading up to Shaftsbury Bridge.

The potholes are getting quite bad there and the southern end of Shaftesbury Avenue is now down to the surface sub-layer in parts.

The roads superintendents for West Sussex hopefully will read these letters and put it onto their "urgent list" for some prompt action.

It could be an idea for West Sussex to have a roads website set up.

Then members of the public could email the site to alert them of roads requiring attention.

This would save whatever method they have to highlight existing problems.

Or would this be too much in terms of people power?
