Project is now proceeding well

The Barnham signal box was successfully relocated from Barnham station to Olivers Meadow in Westergate in December 2009 with the intention that it will become a home for the Bognor Regis Model Railway Club.

Renovations were on schedule for completion in time for the signal box’s 100th anniversary in the summer of 2011 when, in November 2010, an arsonist struck.

This was a major setback to the project but thanks to generous support from many individuals and organisations, including in particular the Railway Heritage Trust and Southern Rail, the project is now proceeding well.

We anticipate completion towards the end of the summer.

To help us raise funds, Southern Rail have kindly offered a standard-class annual season ticket between any two Southern stations.

The ticket will be valid for one year from purchase.

As an example, an annual season ticket between Barnham and London Victoria currently costs in excess of £3,800.

We are inviting offers in the region of £3,000 for this season ticket.

If you are a regular commuter between Southern stations and you want to save yourself some money and help the Barnham Signal Box Trust at the same time, would you please contact Mike Burton on 07521 678977 or by email at [email protected]
