Rethink needed on A27 traffic lights

AS HAS happened so many times in recent months, I have just spent another 25 minutes this evening sat in the traffic stretching back from Grove Lodge in Worthing to the lights at Lancing.

Is it not long past time that West Sussex County Council and the Highways Agency threw up their hands and admitted "we got it completely wrong!"?

Despite numerous expensive additions and amendments, this whole exercise has turned out to be a complete and unmitigated disaster.

The only one to have gained is the private company which installs the lights, controls the cameras, controls the computers, changes the road layouts and then changes them all back again.

The losers are the local residents who not only have to pay for this farce but also have to suffer the tailbacks day after day.

I plead with our MPs, our councillors, our county councillors, just get out there and see for yourself, the lights simply do not work.

It's time our elected representatives did something about it!
