ROTARY ROUND-UP: Exciting new year projects after busy Christmas

This week, Gerald Illsley, from the Rotary Club of Worthing Steyne, gives an update on the latest and future goings-on.

Is it a group? Or a herd? Or even a mess of Rotarians?

Either way it was us Rotarians from Worthing Steyne getting together last month to celebrate Christmas time and our successes through the year.

But especially our most recent, special event with Father Christmas in his tour of many of the streets and local areas around Worthing to say hello to everyone, and meet the families and children to check his Christmas gifts list.

We met lots of people. Father Christmas had his sleigh and we had Christmas carols and songs too. It was great to meet everyone.

Thank you all very much for your generous contributions towards the local charities we support.

We all hope you have had an enjoyable and wonderful Christmas time, and we send our best wishes for a healthy and happy new year.

The new year will give us lots of chances to work with others around Worthing and Lancing in new and exciting projects.

The 2016 celebrations of the town’s links to Richebourg, France, to mark the centenary of the battles there so bravely fought by men from Worthing.

And Easter and the August bank holiday are again time when Rotary will be on the streets around the town, especially with the annual carnival.

We have lots to look forward to this year. We hope we can help you with any projects of yours. Please let us know. Or are you up for helping too?

Come along and see us at the Ardington Hotel on a Monday evening to meet us at our headquarters and learn more about our club and Rotary. You will be very welcome. Please phone ahead on 07788 638757 to let us know when you will be coming along.
