What is Coun Oakley trying to say in his letter?

Is he saying it is too expensive to deal with dog mess or does he just want to hear people's views?

What he does not say is how he and the council intend to deal with the problem.

Surely the targeted use of the dog warden(s), supported by other council staff/agencies, and involving local residents, will identify offenders.

The issue of fixed penalty notices to offenders will go some way to preventing this disgusting practice.

The impression I gain from his letter is that the problem is in the "too hard box" and little will be done about it.

Perhaps the councillor can tell us how many prosecutions/fixed penalty notices have been issued to date.

This may be a further indicator of how the authorities view this problem.
