Volunteers need for two Royal Blind Society charity collections

You very kindly printed my letter a few weeks ago, when I wrote to ask Herald readers to help out for an hour or two at local charitable collections for the Royal Blind Society, which is based in Rustington.

I would firstly like to thank the two people who have volunteered their time during this year.

Could I please make a further appeal for just a small amount of readers' time to help the Royal Blind Society support blind and partially-sighted people of all ages, through providing much-needed breaks for more than 900 people each year at our specialist hotel, the Bradbury, in East Preston, and through our grant scheme for blind people on very low incomes.

Our first collections of the year are in Worthing town centre on Easter Saturday, April 11, and at the Holmbush Centre, Shoreham, on Friday, April 24.

I would love to hear from anyone who can help, or from local companies, colleges and schools who may have colleagues or students who wish to support a very worthwhile cause without making a long-term or regular commitment.

If you can help, please contact me, Peter Hards, on 07702 167811 or by email at [email protected]
