The branch covers from Shoreham to Littlehampton and people across the area are invited to visit the information stands at various venues to find out more about Parkinson’s from people who have the progressive neurological condition and their carers.

Branch chairman Margaret Stewart, who lives in East Preston, said: “This is a really good opportunity for people to understand Parkinson’s and the impact it can have on normal life.

“Our support group is very active in providing help for sufferers that will improve their quality of life and we depend on charitable funds for this. In addition to the information leaflets, there will be collection tins at each venue for people to contribute on the day.”

Parkinson’s is a degenerative neurological condition, for which there currently is no cure. The main symptoms of the condition are tremor, slowness of movement and rigidity.

It affects 127,000 people in the UK – which is around one in 500 of the population.

Parkinson’s UK is the UK’s leading charity supporting those with the condition.
