Surgery Petition: Thank you to all those who signed the petition last week for NHS England to support the provision of a satellite surgery in Peasmarsh. Numbers have already topped a thousand, and the lists collected outside Jempson’s and at various other points have now gone forward to the Rye Medical Centre where they are still collecting signatures, and will form part of their appeal against the decision to refuse approval. There are still a couple of days left during which you can sign online athttp://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/67815.

Football Coaching: School holidays are here and a chance for some junior football coaching. Young people who are interested should come to the Recreation Ground on a Thursday at 6.30 (before the Peasmarsh United Team Practice) and report to Steven Buss. It will be necessary for a parent or guardian to sign a consent form.

Lunch Club: The next Lunch Club will be on Monday August 18 - as usual, please try to book your place by Saturday 16.

Notice Boards: Now we have 2 brand new notice boards in the village you can check the menu and find other local information on the board outside the hall. The Brickfields Board remains the official place for parish council notices. On each of the new boards there is one pane open for the public to put up their own notices.

Bus Service: A reminder that there is a consultation questionnaire about the proposed changes to our bus service available to complete in the library in Rye, or you can find a link to it on the East Sussex County Council website: please have your say!

Church Services: This Sunday both the 8am and 10am service will be at All Saints Beckley.

Advance notice for Sunday August 31 - there will be no 10 o’clock service at either of our churches on this date. The congregation will be visiting Fr Martin’s church of St George’s Brede for the 9.30 morning service, as we are now all part of the same benefice. This is just a “one-off” visit and in September we shall resume our usual pattern of 1st and 3rd Sundays at Peasmarsh and 2nd and 4th Sundays at Beckley for the 10 o’clock service.
