Can I remind everyone about the petition to NHS England about our satellite surgery at the Memorial hall. There is an online petition that anyone can sign whether they are local or not by going to either - http://peasmarshmh.btck.co.uk or http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/67815 . Please take the time to sign this petition, and ask your friends and family to sign too - hopefully we can get NHS England to change their minds.

A reminder about the Rock and Roll and Sixties Music Night on Saturday August 16 at the hall, 7.30-10.00pm with music by great local group “Something Else”. Tickets £10 to include fish and chip supper, bring your own drinks and glasses. Tickets from Jan Weston at 20 School Lane or St. Michael’s Hospice Shop in Rye. If not enough tickets are sold by August 15 then this event will have to be cancelled so please buy your tickets now!

I hope everyone is aware of the proposed changes to our bus services - our off peak buses would be cut to one every two hours, and the Sunday service completely abolished! There is a consultation questionnaire available to complete in the library in Rye, or you can find a link to it on the East Sussex County Council website. Once every two hours is just not good enough when so many people rely on the bus to get to the doctor, dentist and shops, never mind wanting to visit family and friends!

A couple of dates for your diary for September: The first Quiz of the autumn will be on September 13; and the first Bingo at the hall will be on Monday September 15 at 2.30pm - let’s hope they have a full house.
