Pensioner hit by vehicle dies

A WOMAN has died in hospital just over two weeks after being knocked out of her wheelchair by a car.

Police confirmed that 83-year-old Edna Hillier, of Birkdale Close, Worthing, died at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, on Friday.

She had been in her wheelchair on Tuesday, August 26, when a car collided with her in Liverpool Gardens shortly after 11am.

A post-mortem exam-ination has been carried out but results of further tests to establish the cause of death have yet to be announced.

Police are appealing for witnesses who saw the collision between a black Honda Jazz and Mrs Hillier in her wheelchair, which was being pushed by her 79-year-old husband.
