A259 Littlehampton and Angmering improvements: Pictures show work progressing

Work is continuing at pace on a stretch of the A259 between Littlehampton and Angmering.

The project is part of a mammoth scheme by West Sussex County Council to widen the road into a dual-carriageway as part of infrastructure improvements aimed at supporting hundreds of new homes in the area.

At a cost of £25.8million, the first phase of works will include a new dual-carriageway to replace the existing single carriageway between the new Fitzalan link road and the Body Shop roundabout and the single carriageway between Station Road, Angmering and the A280 roundabout.

The budget is jointly funded by the Coast to Capital Local Enterprise Partnership, West Sussex County Council and private developer contributions.

The county council has been approached for a progress update on the work, but these pictures show how the road looks now.
