Almost 1,000 Worthing homes left without electricity after power cut

Hundreds of homes in Worthing have been left without electricity after a power cut this afternoon (February 15).

According to UK Power Networks, 923 homes in west Worthing have been affected by the fault, which was reported at 4.08pm.

Tarring, Durrington and High Salvington are the worst areas affected.

It is believed to have been caused by damage to an underground cable on the high voltage network.

The power network said engineers are working to fix the issue and apologised for any inconvenience.

Power is expected to be restored between 5.30pm and 6.30pm, according to UK Power Networks.
