There was a small fire, hot chocolate and mince pies, made by volunteers and at the beginning, it was for nearby residents.

Over the years, the numbers have risen to several hundred visitors each Christmas and for many years, there has been a collection after the singing, with proceeds always going to Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice and St Barnabas House hospice in Worthing.
