The eight-year-old is in the care of Dogs Trust Shoreham and will need support with some ongoing training, plus quiet walks, where he can avoid bumping into other dogs.

Adel Burnett, rehoming centre manager, said: “Joshua is fun chap who adores spending time with his favourite people. He may be entering his senior years but he’s still very active, loves to play with his toys and is always keen to use his brain when solving a food puzzle.

“Although he requires some extra management while out on his walks, Joshua truly is a wonderful dog with a lot of love to give.”

Much more a fan of human company, Joshua will need to be the only pet in an adult-only household and will need a garden to play in.

Dogs Trust Shoreham remains closed to the public but a small number of dogs are now up for adoption through the charity’s Handover at Home scheme, in line with the government’s social distancing guidelines.

Joshua will need to meet his new family multiple times before he leaves the Brighton Road rehoming centre, so is unable to be rehomed through this process but the team is accepting applications.
