Eastbourne’s big wheel gets to stay an extra month

Due to popular demand, Visit Eastbourne says the attraction will remain on the Western Lawns until August 31.

Dubbed the ‘Eastbourne Eye’, it had intially been planned to stay until August 3.

But Visit Eastbourne, the town’s tourism team, said today, “Due to popular demand, the Eastbourne Eye will stay on the Western Lawns until 31 August!

Tickets cost £5 per adult and £4 for children under 1.4 metres tall with family tickets available costing just £15.

“All tickets can be purchased on site Ferris wheel.”

Having opened earlier this month, the big wheel has brought cheer to the town after months of lockdown and a series of summer event cancellations.

It is available for 10 minute rides from 11am-8pm Sunday to Thursday and 10am-9pm Friday to Saturday.

Socially distanced queuing systems are in place and the use of hand sanitizer before and after entering the pods is compulsory for each rider.
