Residents in Saxifrage Way worked on the display together and turned them on on Friday evening, after Jack, Liam, Sue, Alan, Sharon and Carol worked flat out with to finish covering the house in lights, Christmas trees and Father Christmases.

Liam said: “After the year we have all endured together, why not come along and feel the Christmas spirit. We have all worked incredibly hard over the past couple of weeks to ensure we could make it as magical as we could, because we know ourselves how much of a terrible year it’s been, so hopefully we can put a smile back on people’s faces and get them in the festive spirit.”

Last year, the Christmas light display was launched for the first time and it raised £261.41 for Macmillan Cancer Support. The hope is to raise even more this year, having gone even bigger and better than before.

Liam said: “This year, our selected charity that we are raising money for is the Kent, Sussex and Surrey Air Ambulance. We’ve seen them around Worthing multiple times and their services are crucial to many lives.

“The air ambulance does not get any government funding, this means it is down to us to keep them going. After seeing their Covid Appeal, we knew this was a great opportunity for us to raise money through our Christmas display for them.

“To give everyone peace of mind we have set up a JustGiving page, in case any visitors still wanted to donate but didn’t want to touch money. We have QR Codes which can be scanned on any smart phone device.

“If you cannot donate, do not be put off by this. The display is going to be there to be seen by all, so please still come along with the family to take a look. You won’t want to miss out. Please adhere to current goverment guidelines and remember to social distance.”
