Littlehampton artist raffles original painting for Poppy Appeal

Imogen, 23, had her first solo exhibition at Pier Road Coffee and Art in Littlehampton earlier this month and offered her picture of a poppy as a raffle prize to support the Royal British Legion at a time when donations were reduced due to lockdown.

A self-taught artist and photographer, Imogen has been selling original paintings, photographs, prints and cards at the Beach Road cafe for just over a year but this was her first solo exhibition.

She said: “Thank you so much to everyone who entered my charity raffle for the Royal British Legion. We’ve raised £100 so I’m really, really happy.”

The winner, Elly Fryer, was drawn live on Facebook on November 11.

The week-long exhibition opened just days before lockdown began and had to end online, with click and collect sales.

Imogen said: “Due to the second lockdown, it was virtual for the second half of the week but the first half was amazing and a great success.”
