Littlehampton sandcastle competition goes virtual: here’s how to take part

The annual sandcastle competition on Littlehampton beach is going virtual due to the pandemic.

The event, open to anyone aged 18 and under, requires entrants to make a sand sculpture at home or on the beach before August 28 a send a photo with details to [email protected]. Click here for more details.

Organised by Littlehampton Town Council, prizes will be given out to the winner and two runner ups courtesy of Harbour Park.

To make a sandcastle at home using fake sand all you have to do is mix 8 cups of flour with 1 cup of baby oil.

The winner will be selected by councillor Billy Blanchard-Cooper. He said: “Our annual sandcastle competition is one of the best free family events out there and although this is the first time we will be doing it virtually, we hope that Littlehampton residents will get creative and enjoy taking part.

“We hope to see you all back on the beach for the event next year.”
