Littlehampton teenager wins competition with stunning photo

A Littlehampton teenager has won a photography competition showing off the best of the town.

Hattie Keeffe-Magan, 19, bagged top prize with her shot of East Beach at sunset in Littlehampton Town Council’s ‘Littlehampton Lives’ photography competition to mark Sussex Day on June 16.

She said: “My mum tagged me in their post on Facebook so I thought I would enter. I’m so happy I won.”

On May 26, the former photography student and her friend Rod were skimming stones when she took the winning photo using the burst setting on her phone.

She said: “I thought it looked really cool; like the Sydney Opera House in a way.”

Judging the competition was vice-chairman of the Community Resources Committee, councillor Freddie Tandy. He said: “The standard of the competition was extremely high; everyone uniquely captured different parts of Littlehampton.

“The winning entry is a colourful sunset shot along East beach with a sharp splash of water featured in the shot.

“Thank you to everyone who entered.”
